Spine!

After completing the back panel Ellie did the spine in some more of her free lessons. The spine contains a smaller version of the bands logo 'AA' and the name of the Single and the important information which relates to the record company.

Inside front cover panel!!

We came to the conclusion that the pinboard idea wasn't going to work as well as once thought, as when we took the photos they didn't show clearly enough the contents of the pin board.

Because of this Ellie began experimenting and we have a few ideas which will be put into practice during frees on Thursday 5th December 2013.

Front Panel!

After realising our original idea of using a road wasn't ideal for our genre we decided to do an image of a feature of each of the girls. We originally thought Emily's eyes, Ellie's nose and Laura's mouth, however after taking the images we came to the conclusion that their skin tones were just too different to make them make a collage of one face.

Because of this we decided to just go for the eyes of each girl and we would edit them to make them stand out more and we would layer them one underneath the other. We decided to also do this with the writing of our single, as we thougtht it would be more continuous.

CD Tray!!

Today in lesson myself and Ellie got the CD tray panel of the digipak finished. I started by getting the template of a CD tray off of google and cutting out the section we needed. I then fitted it to the panel that was the correct dimensions we'd measured for the digipak.

After this I multiplied the Autumns Abandoned logo by 4, giving me 4 copies of the logo. With them i changed the colours of each of them, each one fitting the colour of one of the girls, and the 4th colour being red, the band colour.

I then placed them at a 45 degree angle with their bottoms facing the CD tray, they were all put into the clips in the corners of the CD tray itself. For the image under the CD tray we decided to use an image of our first location, the tunnel. I fitted the image to the full size of the panel, after this i went around with the eraser tool, making it a perfect circular fit in the CD section.

After Planning!!

After Ellie and I had planned the digipak she and Molly decided to go ahead with beginning to make the digipak by using Adobe Photoshop CS6. They decided to to start the digipak in their free periods whilst I was in lesson, and they managed to do the back panel of the digipak.

Making of the Pin Board!!

Today during lesson we constructed the pin board for our digipak. We were using a lot of pink and fluffy kind of things, the sort of materials you would assume link to a really girly band. After being told by Imogen, our classmate, that she didn't feel it matched up enough well with the aesthetics of our footage from our video shoot. After thinking it through we agreed that we had made it too girly, this encouraged us to use all available materials to make the pin board more pop/punk like so it was the same as our genre.
